Ministry Note - October 21, 2020

We're cleaning house!  Our fall all-church study, Soul Detox, is designed to help us recognize and remove the debris while bringing us into a deeper relationship with God. 
Hear a Biblical message on Sundays and explore further on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm, free daycare provided. No RSVP needed, just show up!

Worship & Covid
Here's our working plan. We pray that it brings glory God! 

• Please enter the building through the north doors. Hand sanitizer available at entrances. East doors are also an entry option.
• Please wear a mask. We make this request out of respect for the government authorities and Linn County mask mandate. 
• Feel free to bring coffee, beverage. We won't be serving food or drink at this time.
• Our Nursery and Kids Life Group leaders are excited to share Jesus with all the children! 
• If you'd like to attend in person but remain in your car, we have a live broadcast of the service on 90.7 FM. Park on the south side the building for best reception.
• For those worshipping at home, a live stream of the service will be available at 9:30 via Facebook Live. 

Disciple
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

Middle Youth Group Sunday, Oct 25 from 1 to 4 pm. We're digging into what Jesus means when He says "You are the salt of the earth." Expect worship, Bible time, salty snacks (chips!), and pumpkin carving! RSVP: Megan@HughesNursery.com
Bible 101 Classes Find links to all the Bible 101 classes on our website. Led by Pastor Craig, this 4-class series was recently presented and is an awesome intro to the Bible. Handouts and videos of the classes are online for you! 
Kids Life Group! The kids are invited to come together for teaching, games, and community during the message. This week we're looking at how God is Sovereign—He's in control and that's a good thing! 

Serve
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Romans 12:11
Books and school supplies. Students at Hoover Elementary in CR are in need of school supplies and books. Hit especially hard by the derecho, several students are displaced from their homes. With the potential for at-home learning on the horizon, there is a call for school supplies and books for these children to have at home to facilitate their learning. Used books are welcome. All types of school supplies are welcome. Bring your gifts to the donation box near the Miracle Barn at PBC.
Heartland Area Youth for Christ: You're invited! Youth For Christ (YFC) is hosting an open house to dedicate their new facility on 10/22 at 6:30 at 400 3rd Ave SW, Cedar Rapids. Our mission giving supports YFC and they're grateful for our support. RSVP to 319/393-7996 or office@heartlandyfc.org.
Fabric Mask Update Our dedicated PBC seamstress Nancy Zahn crafted more than 300 masks for PBC over the last 4 months. She is transitioning to making masks for Prairie Schools now. Nancy is happy to make you a custom mask if you need. Just give her a ring: 319/558-6727.
Skills Survey We're building a simple database of where and how you would like to serve the Kingdom—@PBC and beyond. Here's a link to the fillable form. You are welcome to print and fill out the paper copy, submitting it at PBC in the Miracle Barn or save digital copy and send it to our coordinator Judy Griffith at griffhb@yahoo.com.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE Prayer Team. A dedicated team of 9 people have committed to stop everything to immediately pray for urgent needs. Reach out for prayer—the Prayer Warriors will call on God on your behalf.  Community 

• Prayers for Christ-led discernment and leadership for government officials as they navigate the pandemic.
• Lord make PBC a people who are intensely focused on YOU and Your will. Change our hearts and minds to want what you want.
• Prayers for revival in the hearts of all. May the Gospel go out and be received by people right now across the Corridor and across the world. 

Personal

• Prayers for peace for Earl Ohrnstein and family as the grieve the passing of Earl's wife. Lord please fill Earl with your presence. 
• Continued prayers for peace and comfort for the family of Mike Heims who passed away recently.
