Welcome
Good morning, church family! If you're new to our weekly newsletter, we structure it according to our three pillars: worship, discipleship, and service. We pray that the PBC Weekly will help you get to know our church and stay connected throughout the week. Worship "May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." - Romans 15:5-6 Yesterday, Pastor Craig reminded us to be discerning, using the minds God gave us. Weren't able to join us? Listen to the sermon on our website or search "Prairie Bible Church Messages" on your favorite podcast app. A huge thank-you to Adam and our band for leading us in praising God together. Weren't the songs powerful this week? The lyric, "Be Thou my wisdom and Thou my true word," fit especially well with the sermon, reminding us to seek God's wisdom in all things. To listen to some of our favorite songs, check out this Spotify Playlist! Did you notice our new seating wing? Romans 15:7 calls us to welcome one another as Christ welcomes us, so we are committed to making room for everyone who wants to come and meet Jesus. We are so thankful to those who volunteered their time and skill to create this beautiful space! Discipleship "Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ." - Colossians 1:28 Week at a Glance: Curious about what discipleship opportunities PBC is offering this week? Check out our Events page. We would love to see you at any and all PBC activities! Life Group Fair: Looking to take your next step at Prairie Bible? Consider joining a life group! This Sunday, October 8th, from 10:00-12:00, is our Life Group Fair. Meet our leaders and find a group that's right for you! From our Young Adults Group to Ladies Life Group, studies to fellowship gatherings, we have a place for you. For more information, email Pastor Craig: craig@prairiebible.org 412 Youth and Salt & Light Did you know we have two ministries on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00? All 6th-12th graders are invited to 412 Youth, which meets in the main church building and is led by Pastor Max (max@prairiebible.org). At the same time, Pastor Billy (billy@prairiebible.org) is leading a new discussion group called Salt & Light. This group aims to equip parents (and anyone who is interested!) to navigate contemporary issues with truth and grace. Salt & Light meets in the offices across from the main building, and childcare is available for kids who are too young for 412 Youth. Women's Tea & Testimony PBC Ladies, invite your friends and join us on Saturday, October 28th, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. This will be a refreshing time of fellowship, worship, and hearing powerful testimonies. A huge thank-you to Cheryl Lehman for coordinating this event! Sign up at the Miracle Barn located at the west end of the Gathering Space. Service "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed." - Proverbs 19:17 Mission Spotlight: Merry Christmas, everyone! PBC is getting a head start on the most wonderful time of the year by supporting Operation Christmas Child (OCC) throughout October. OCC packs and delivers gifts to children in need all around the world. Most importantly, OCC delivers the greatest gift of all: the gospel of Jesus! You can support OCC by purchasing items for gift boxes, such as stuffed animals, children's clothing, and school supplies. Our Kids Life Group will gather and pack these gifts in shoeboxes that will be sent worldwide to other children! If you are willing to purchase items for OCC, please sign up here: Sign-Up Form. If you cannot sign up online or would like more information, please contact Megan Hughes: (319) 360-4558, Megan@hughesnursery.com. Giving: If you feel called to support Prairie Bible Church financially, you can do so through our website or by putting your donation in the Miracle Barn in the fellowship area. Emergency Prayer Team: Prayer warrior Lysle Regennitter leads our prayer team and gatherings. If you or a loved one need prayer, please reach out to Lysle: (319) 654-4566 or Lysle.Regennitter@gmail.com. Comments are closed.
