Serve--Drive through Food Drive For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:14 The need for food and hygiene supplies has increased here in the Corridor. We're hosting a food and supply drive at PBC. Our team will distribute it to families in need and local agencies. Here are all the details. Food items requested Canned fruits, vegetables, and meats. Peanut butter. Mac and cheese. Boxed meals. Cereals. Granola bars. Chips. Supply needs Shampoo. Conditioner. Deodorant. Facial tissues. Combs and brushes. Cleaning supplies. And art supplies—for children as they are home for an extended period. Donation details Items (and cash donations) accepted at the south door of our new PBC home Sunday afternoons from 1–4 PM and Thursdays from 4–7 PM through May 14. Teens and Adults A chapter a day. Start a daily Bible reading plan by reading the four Gospels. Begin in Matthew 1 and commit to one chapter a day. Take Saturdays and Sundays off if you want. Do what works for you but focus on active reading. Read the chapter twice, if time. Then reflect on a verse or short passage. Maybe the verse is encouraging or convicting or confusing. Rest there. Take some notes. Pray. Start again tomorrow. Here are other Bible reading plan ideas. Listen to the Word. There are a host of services that will read the Bible to you. Here's an easy-to-use free one. Listen while you drive. Listen while you cook. Listen while you mow. Kids and Families Memorize scripture. God's word stored in the brain and heart is a treasure. Choose a verse each week and make a game of memorizing it as a family. Make mini posters for your fridge and doors, create actions to go with the verse, write it with chalk on your front side walk (bonus: your neighbors might memorize it too!). Here's a great one to start with--John 16:33. Get personal. Does your child have a favorite Bible story? Or maybe a person—David, Daniel, Mary, Noah? Read everything you can about the person or event in a children's Bible and then take to the web for activities specific to your child's favorite person or event. Sing. Check out Rain for Roots. This music group shares Gospel truth in high quality children's music. Favorite album--Big Stories for Little Ones. Young Adults Meet on Zoom to study and discuss God's word, contact Jesse Padgett.
